Warren Beatty stars as a politician who suddenly begins telling the truth. Halle Berry co-stars.

SEX/NUDITY 3 - Suggestive dancing. A couple is shown kissing in bed and they are obviously nude, although we see only naked backs and shoulders. A large portrait of a nude woman with her breasts clearly visible is seen in two scenes (one is an extended scene). Kissing, sexual innuendo.

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A heavy piece of machinery nearly falls on man. Threatening with guns in a few scenes. A man is shot with a spurt of blood. Chases, reckless driving.

PROFANITY 10 - About 100 F-words (most heard in songs playing on the soundtrack, but they can be clearly heard), many mild obscenities, scatological and anatomical references, many racial slurs (sometimes African-Americans saying it about other African-Americans). [profanity glossary]

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Politicians, race relations, lying and honesty, the electoral system, the influence of money on politics.

MESSAGE - Honesty in a politician is a breath of fresh air.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
