Police thriller with Wesley Snipes as a Federal cop who has
seven days to catch criminal Dennis Hopper. Most of the film is devoted to following
Snipes as he collects and follows leads.
SEX/NUDITY 2 - Some kissing, and a couple of couples are shown in bed,
presumably before or after sex. No nudity, just a little cleavage.
VIOLENCE/GORE 5 - A number of men are shot, most with a shotgun. Some blood
is visible. A man is run over with a car, after he's been shot to death. A man slaps a
woman. And, a woman blows herself up after she lights a lighter in a gas filled room. Cops
threaten a man with a gun.
PROFANITY 6 - A substantial number of F-words and various F-word
derivatives. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Crime, divorce, prostitution, cold-blooded murder,
desperation, drug-abuse, counterfeit money.
MESSAGE - Crime doesn't pay. Police work can be tedious and often relies on
lucky breaks.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process. |
