Patrick Swayze stars as a truck driver whose family is taken hostage and thus he is forced to drive a shipment of illegal guns. Randy Travis, Meat Loaf.

SEX/NUDITY 0 - None.

VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - A shootout leaves many people wounded or dead. A man is shot and killed (his shirt is very bloody) and a man's arm is left bloody after being shot. Many, many vehicles (big rigs, cars, motorcycles) are destroyed by crashes and explosions killing several people. A fuel tanker explodes, a mobile home is driven through and the window of a car is blown out by a shotgun. A truck is fired upon repeatedly with shotguns and machine guns. A woman and child are chased, caught and taken hostage at gunpoint. A fight with kicks and punches and a fight on the back of a truck cab. A man is thrown onto a car windshield. Threatening with guns and a lot of very reckless driving.

PROFANITY 5 - A couple of F-words, about 10 scatological terms, several anatomical references, many mild obscenities and insults. [profanity glossary]

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Truck driving, illegal gun running, kidnapping, redemption, taking the law into your own hands, government agencies.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
