Unlike the MPAA we do not assign one inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest, depending on quantity and context.
The boys from MTV get sucked into a government/law
enforcement investigation.
SEX/NUDITY 3 - All animated: Lots and lots of sexual innuendo with lots of
masturbation references (with hand gestures, talk of masturbation and a rocking camper
when Beavis is supposedly inside -- he comes out in his underpants). Kissing, male bare
butts a few times, cleavage, a rocking car with a couple kissing inside, a statue has bare
breasts.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - Reckless driving, explosions. Beavis sees deformed
monsters in his delirium. Threatening with guns and some shooting, falls, punches, hits
and kicks. A plane nearly crashes, the boys are nearly hit by swerving cars and there is a
multi-car pile-up. Butt-head hits his head and there is a lot of flowing blood, Beavis'
face is bruised.

PROFANITY 5 - Many mild obscenities, many anatomical references, lots of
sexual references and some scatological references. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Terrorism, biological warfare, law enforcement, criminal
activity, male teenage hormones, stupidity.
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
