Michael Keaton reprises his role as the caped crusader. The
plot sets The Penguin (Danny DeVito) as an embittered half-human, half-penguin creature
out to control Gotham and destroy Batman, with the help of Christopher Walken as a Gotham
power broker and Michelle Pfeiffer as a leather-and-whips, man-hating machine dubbed the
Catwoman.
SEX/NUDITY 2 - None, though the Penguin gets a bit descriptive about his
base desires. Also, that's no barrel the Catwoman is wearing. At one instance the Catwoman
licks Batman's face. Keaton and Pfeiffer roll on his couch, kissing passionately, but
nothing else happens.
VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - Lots of explosions, people are dropped out of high
buildings as a matter of course, there are some razor slashes and shootings, comic book
beatings. A severed hand. A charred corpse is quite visible.
PROFANITY 2 - A few relatively mild expletives. [profanity glossary]
DISCUSSION TOPICS - An argument could be made for the value of mental health
counselling: All masked characters in the film are presented as emotionally dysfunctional.
MESSAGE - Crime does not pay.
