Standard western with Madeleine Stowe, Mary Stuart Masterson, Andie MacDowell and Drew Barrymore as cowgirls on the run.

SEX/NUDITY 2 - A lot of cleavage, and a couple of implied sex scenes (nothing is shown).

VIOLENCE/GORE 5 - A lot of shoot-outs, with blood being splattered all over the place. A woman is whipped off screen. We do see some blood, and some old scars on her back (presumably from earlier beatings).

PROFANITY 4 - A lot of scatological language, cursing, anatomical references and insults. [profanity glossary]

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Prostitution, gender discrimination.

MESSAGE - Girls can shoot and ride horses as well as boys can.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
