The Avengers unite to face a formidable foe and find themselves struggling with their own inner demons along the way. Also with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, James Spader, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie and Hayley Atwell. Directed by Joss Whedon. [2:21]

SEX/NUDITY 3 - A husband and his wife kiss and hug in a few scenes. A woman kisses a man and says, "I adore you" (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details).
 A man comes out of a bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist (we see his bare chest, abdomen, shoulders and back) and a woman wearing a robe (we see a bit of cleavage) is seen sitting on a bed outside; she makes a remark about joining the man in the shower and she caresses his face but he pulls away. A woman flirts with a man and makes her attraction to him obvious.
 A woman wears a tight-fitting outfit with a low-cut front that reveals cleavage and the outline of her figure throughout the movie. We see a photograph of a woman wearing a low-cut top that reveals cleavage. A man is shown shirtless and we see his bare chest, shoulders, abdomen and back. A superhero sees a room filled with scantily clad women who dance suggestively (we see bare shoulders, cleavage and bare abdomens; this scene is repeated with more detail later).
 When running for cover, a man falls over a bar and lands on a woman with his face between her clothed breasts; he says, "Sorry." A superhero tells a man, "If we get out of this alive, I'll hold your own," and the man says, "You had to go and make this weird." A man says, "They better not be playing hide the zucchini." A woman talks about having been sterilized as part of her graduation ceremony. A man makes a sexually suggestive remark when another man tries to lift a heavy hammer. A man says, "They are multiplying faster than a Catholic rabbit."

VIOLENCE/GORE 6 - A metal man in a plane flies over many people on the ground and shoots them (we see some people falling to the ground); one man is struck several times and falls dead (we see bloody bullet holes). A metal man grabs a man's hand and pulls his arm off at the elbow (we hear squishing) and the man screams and stumbles; the metal man throws the injured man down a flight of stairs. A superhero sees many other superheroes lying bloody and dead on the ground; one with blood on his nose speaks and then dies. We see several scenes of war with explosions, shooting and fighting.
 An extended battle sequence pits several superheroes against armed men: heroes in a speeding vehicle shoot at attackers, one kicks and throws several men, one drags a man behind a speeding motorcycle, a car explodes as another hero throws several more attackers through the air (no blood or gore is seen), a motorcycle speeds into a vehicle and they both explode, several men are shot and fall to the floor (we do not see wounds), and a superhero is jolted when he tries to fly through a force field.
 Many metal men fight with superheroes and we see punches, blasts, kicks and we see many metal men shatter or explode; one superhero bites the inner-machinery out of the chest of one of the metal men and we see another metal man being held in the power beams emitted by three superheroes (we see the metal man's face begin to melt away and glow red). A woman with super powers reaches into the chest cavity of a metal man and pulls out what looks like a metallic heart with oil dripping from it.
 A giant superhero tears up a city, throwing vehicles, blowing up buildings and frightening people as he runs through the streets until a metal containment box surrounds him and we see it sink into the ground before he comes back out from under the ground; the superhero fights with another superhero after throwing a car at him and the second one punches the first one in the face repeatedly, then grabs his arm and flies into the sky dragging the second behind him; they crash through an office building where an elevator car filled with people is thrown out of the shaft (one superhero catches a cable and lets the car down slowly) and a superhero spits out a tooth after he is punched again).
 A superhero jumps onto the top of a moving truck, then flips over the back door as a metal man inside the truck shoots the doors off (the superhero holds on as the doors are dragged by the truck). A superhero falls out of a plane on a motorcycle and lands on the ground safely, then speeds through traffic and alleys, slides under a moving semi truck and stops short of falling into a large hole in the street. A superhero and a metal man fight, then other superheroes and other metal men join in with gunshots, throws and kicks; a superhero grabs a heavy hammer and is thrown into a metal man and another metal man is decapitated. A superhero and a metal man fight inside a train car. Two superheroes fight as another superhero directs bolts of energy into a "cradle" where an artificial intelligence is lying and we see the AI break out of the cradle and fly around a room. A superhero and a metal man face off and many other metal men flood into the area where they all fight. Two mental men fight in mid-air and they yell and throw each other around. Many metal men move toward a device that his protected by superheroes and the metal men are destroyed in different ways (we see them blow up, get crushed, etc.).
 A metal man shoots something at a woman who falls to the floor and we see a bloody slash across her clothed chest and blood on her face and lip. A metal man attacks several superheroes and they scatter for cover as many other metal men appear and attack with a lot of crashing and shooting and throwing; one metal men has been cut in half and we see its head and torso while another is shattered and a heavy hammer is thrown into another breaking it apart. A metal man throws a man through a glass door (no injuries are seen), then stands over him threatening him. A metal man is thrown out of a plane in mid-flight and we hear him yell as he falls.
 A giant piece of land hovering over Earth falls fast toward the ground and a superhero blasts it to smaller pieces avoiding a disaster. The ground rumbles and buildings crumble as a chunk of the ground lifts up and into the air. Two superheroes crash through the skeleton of a tall building and it collapses around them with dust and debris rolling out onto the street below; we see civilians running and screaming as waves of dust billow (several people are shown with bloody cuts and others are seen limping away covered with dust and soot). A speeding train with no one at the controls breaks through the end of the track and barrels along crowded streets as people jump, run and scream. A metal man crashes into the bridge of a ship and several superheroes fight with him. Two metal men jump onto a plane in the air, the plane spins and throws the metal men off its wings. A superhero jumps onto the back of a moving truck that is lifted off the ground by two metal men; she jumps out of the back of the truck holding onto a large metal box and directs the box into the back of a plane (she is unharmed). A woman in a car falls off the edge of a crumbling bridge and screams before being pulled out of the car by a superhero and thrown back up to another superhero who catches and pulls her to safety. A car with two passengers falls off the edge of a crumbling bridge and a superhero throws it back to the surface of the road; we see the driver get out of the car and gag (we do not see vomit).
 A superhero is punched in the face repeatedly by a metal man. A superhero is knocked to the ground when a man with super powers speeds passed him and the super hero is shot (we see blood on his side and he moans). A superhero throws his shield at a man and hits him in the face. A man shoots a gun and is knocked to the ground by a man with super powers. A man shoots the lock off a gate to free a woman.
 A superhero thrashes in a body of water and he is surrounded by flashes of light as he sees images of destruction. A woman with super powers sees the destruction of the planet in her mind. A superhero flashes back to her youth and training; we see her aiming a gun at a target and then see a man with a bag over his head as she aims and shoots. A man is shown with blood on his hands after carrying a wounded man to a flying vessel.
 An artificial intelligence appears to infect and destroy another; they are both represented by glowing swirling lights. A giant flying vessel moves through the air like a serpent followed by many others.
 A giant superhero snarls at a woman as she puts out her hand and when he touches her he begins to calm and transform back to human size (we see him thrashing on the ground as he changes). A giant superhero runs with a superhero on his back before she is thrown off and lands on the ground unharmed.
 Several metal men tell crowds of people to move away from a dangerous area and the people throw things at them causing the metal faceplate of one to smolder (we see his faceplate removed and replaced later). A man makes reference to illegal human experimentation. We hear that a pair of 10-year-old twins were orphaned when their apartment building was leveled, that they watched their parents die and that they were trapped for two days waiting to die. A man says, "Man was not meant to meddle." A metal man tells a man and a woman that they will tear them apart. A man says of the Avengers that, "We will send them back in bags." A superhero talks about an arms dealer. A woman says, "They're a mess." A metal man says, "I can't physically throw up in my mouth." A woman talks about having been sterilized as part of her graduation ceremony and we see her being wheeled on a gurney into a room where we see surgical equipment on a table. A man says, "I don't trust a man without a dark side." A woman kisses a man and says, "I adore you" before shoving him off a ledge (we see him unharmed later).
 A wounded superhero lies on a table and a mechanism creates tissue to replace a bloody wound on his abdomen. A woman is shown to have glowing red eyes and when she penetrates other people's minds, their eyes turn red and a glowing red mist floats around their heads. A metal man touches a woman's clothed chest with a glowing scepter that causes her skin to flush blue and her eyes to change color. A metal man limps and spills liquid on the floor and we see its arm missing from the elbow. A man is shown with a healing cut on his face. A man wears a patch over one eye and we see scarring on his forehead and cheek below the patch. We see a dead man with blood on his head and around him. A woman is shown with a bloody lip.
 We see a large ship loaded with weapons and ammunition as a man onboard appears to be making a deal for a sale. Two people help an elderly man who has taken a drink of an alien beverage and appears intoxicated.
