Coming of age tale about punks in the burbs. With Joseph Lindsey and Mira Sorvino.

SEX/NUDITY 4 - A bedroom scene with nudity hidden by close-ups and bed sheets. A teen is also shown in bed with a girlfriend, likewise hidden by sheets. A nude dancer is shown in a nightclub.

VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - Three gangland-style shootings occur, but the victim is always off-camera; the shooter is on-camera. A body is shown in a car trunk, with a bullet-hole through the eye. An extended and brutal fight takes place in an alley. A nightclub robbery takes place, with much shoving and gun-waving. A rival gang responds in kind, raiding the celebration of the robbery and knocking some of the players around.

PROFANITY 7 - The F-word is employed frequently, as well as other profanities. [profanity glossary]

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Drug use and drug dealing; organized crime, murder.

MESSAGE - Time changes people and allegiances; Personal relationships are the wild card in the most carefully-laid plans.

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period. INAPPROPRIATE ADS? We have little control over ads since we belong to ad agencies that serve ads automatically; a standing order should prevent provocative ads, but inappropriate ads do sneak in.
