MPAA Rating: PG

Director Franco Zeffirelli's semi-autobiographical tale of being raised in Florence, Italy during World War II by an eccentric group of English and American women. With Cher, Judi Dench, Joan Plowright, Maggie Smith, Lily Tomlin, Baird Wallace, Charlie Lucas, Massimo Ghini, Paolo Seganti, Paul Chequer, Tessa Pritchard, Mino Bellei and Claudio Spadaro. [1:56]

SEX/NUDITY 3 - Some sexual innuendo. A woman hugs and kisses a man, and two men blow kisses and flirt with some women. Two women exchange interested glances and then dance together. A shirtless man and a woman in a slip talk in bed; when the man gets out of bed we see the side of his nude body (shadows cover his genitals and buttocks). We see statues of a nude male and a topless woman. A man rips off his clothing and we see him in his boxer shorts.

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A battle scene: bombs are launched and are followed by many explosions (one bomb hits a tank); we also see many soldiers with guns, but no gunfire is exchanged. Soldiers break several windows in a cafe and yell at people sitting inside; we briefly see a man with a bloody cut on his head, presumably from a shard of glass. Soldiers also yell at and chase people in the streets, hitting a few with sticks. A man shoves another, a boy is pushed, women shove and scuffle with some soldiers and a woman tackles a man and hits him a few times. A man takes a woman's dog from her and she slaps his back several times. A man threatens a group of women with a gun and another man shoots a wall above their heads. A group of boys briefly surround and taunt a group of women. A woman yells at and chases a boy, and we hear a man and woman yelling at each other. A flag is burned.
