EDITOR'S NOTE

» In the next few weeks we will be trying out In-Text Advertising, a new type of advertising that we think is less intrusive than many other formats. Basically, keywords on our pages that correspond to an advertiser's product or service will be double-underlined in green. More details here.

MPAA Rating: R

An expert negotiator (Russell Crowe) falls for a woman (Meg Ryan) while trying to rescue her engineer husband (David Morse) who's been kidnapped in South America by a drug-trafficking organization. Also with David Caruso and Pamela Reed. [2:12]

SEX/NUDITY 2 - Two kisses and a reference to a man frequenting prostitutes. We see a deck of playing cards with nude women on them, but no actual nudity is visible.

VIOLENCE/GORE 8 - Several people are shot (including one person who is shot several times), resulting in visible bloody wounds (in one scene blood spurts from a torso); one person falls into a waterfall after being shot. A person is stabbed in the neck (blood is on the assailant's face) and another is stabbed in the side. Knives pierce a person's leg after he falls into a trap (he tries to pull them out and we see blood), and a person pulls a bloody stick out of his foot. Two extended shoot-outs with machine gunfire, tanks, fires and explosions (resulting in some deaths); a mob with machine guns kidnaps a group of people (seen again later); a man fires a machine gun at a building; an explosion blows two people up (not really shown); a grenade explodes near someone, resulting in bloody eyes (the person is temporarily blinded); another grenade explodes near a person who then flies through the air; we see some scenes with fires, explosions and machine gun fire; and many instances of threatening with guns or people being shot at (in one scene a person is shot at while hanging off a helicopter as it takes off). A man in a hood is guarded by people with guns. A couple of face slaps and a push, a person is hit and knocked down, a person trips and falls, people scuffle in two different scenes (pushing, yelling, etc.), a person is hit in the head and knocked down, a person is pushed off truck, men fall down hills while trying to escape, and a man dangles over a gully. We see a group of corpses, bloody knuckles, blood on a car window, a spot of blood on a bandage, blood on a sheet covering a corpse (in supposed news coverage), a man's bloody feet (we see them being hit by another person, then see the feet in a picture later), a man's bloody leg, a man's bruised eye, and several people with bloody scratches on their faces.
