Young Pokémon (aka Pokemon) trainer Ash Ketchum and his friends trek to
the town of Greenfield, where they will encounter the Unown, the most mysterious of all
Pokémon. The trainers struggle to save a young girl whose wishes become reality. As is
customary, this movie begins with a Pikachu short which has some Pokémon playing and
getting into mischief in a big city until their handlers come back. With Rika Matsumoto,
Ikue Otani - Pikachu, Masayumi Izuka, Megumi Hashibara and Veronica Taylor. [1:30]
SEX/NUDITY 0 - None.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - In the short "Pikachu & Pichu": A Pichu
almost falls from a tall building. Pikachu tries to save Pichu and ends up perched on a
flagpole and then dangles from a rope attached to the flagpole, while birds peck at the
rope, trying to untie it. Pikachu falls from the rope but bounces, video game style, on
some pink floating creatures and lands on a window washer's scaffold. Pikachu and a couple
of Pichu are tossed onto the top of a speeding bus, are thrown off and into some water
where they are nearly hit by a boat. A water serpent lunges at Pikachu and the Pichu and
they are thrown back on land where they are chased by a very cranky dog. The dog chases
them again and they end up on the top a huge pile of tires, which crumbles and throws them
to the ground where another pile of tires almost lands on them. The Pichu attack a dog
with an electric attack which knocks them out too. The dog is seen unconscious and is then
rolled upon by a large Pokémon. Pikachu and the Pichu ride recklessly in a tire through
the streets and knock over a cat. In the feature "Pokémon: Spell of the Unown":
A man is zapped into the "Unown" through a flashing wormhole/tunnel. He is
presumed dead. A room is filled with crystal formations and the formations spread to cover
the house and the whole town. Pokémon fight each other a few times to prove which Trainer
is better. There's some zapping, flying, pouncing, thunder, shock attacks, electric
attacks and fire. One big fight pits fire and electric attacks against crystal. We see
Pokémon knocked out during these fights, but they "return" and we see them
again later. Thunderbolts and fire are shot at a shield which protects the Unown, and it
eventually cracks. Pikachu tries to fight Entei but gets zapped. A bulldozer trying to
break up the crystal formations is tossed through the air by a wave of crystal and almost
hits two people. A hot air balloon is blown out of the sky and two people and a Pokémon
fall and dangle from some crystal peaks. Pikachu and Ash fall a couple of times; once they
are saved by a flying Pokémon and another
time they hit the ground but are not hurt. A man
falls to the ground unconscious. We hear a report about a man's wife disappearing.
