MPAA Rating: PG-13

Tom Hanks plays a FedEx executive whose plane goes down, leaving him stranded on a deserted island in the South Pacific for four years. Like a modern Robinson Crusoe he has to survive by using his wits, while his fiancée, friends and colleagues assume he's dead. Also with Helen Hunt, Valerie Wildman, Geoffrey Blake and Jennifer Lewis. [2:24]

SEX/NUDITY 3 - A couple of instances of passionate kissing. We see a man and woman lying on a couch together. For much of the movie we see glimpses of parts of a man's bare behind -- a cloth he uses to cover his genitalia doesn't always work as designed.

VIOLENCE/GORE 6 - A plane goes down to violently crash into the ocean; the scene is very tense and with the exception of one man everyone onboard dies (although we don't see anybody get killed, we do see the plane smack into the water and then we see several small fires and lots of debris in the ocean). A man hits his head on the ceiling during the plane wreck; we see blood on his head and shirt. A man almost drowns, and a raft with a man in it almost gets sliced by a plane propeller. A man is tossed around by large waves several times, and once he is violently tossed off his raft and cuts his leg badly on the ocean floor (we see quite a bit of blood, which also colors the water). A man uses an ice skate and a rock to knock a bad tooth out of his mouth (we see some blood fly as the tooth comes out his mouth); the man passes out and his head slams into the ground. A man stabs a crab and yucky-looking green stuff comes out. A man cuts his hand badly on a pointed stick and his palm is covered in blood, and then he accidentally smears the blood on a volleyball; later, he intentionally cuts his hand to paint a face on the ball with his blood. A man's feet are cut in several places -- the blood colors the water he's walking in. We see a decomposing, bloated, ashen corpse floating in water; a man drags it ashore and buries it (we see several shots of the corpse). It's implied that a man defecates behind a tree; also, a man urinates in the ocean. An engine explodes. We hear of a woman's death but don't see her or know her.
