EDITOR'S NOTE

» In the next few weeks we will be trying out In-Text Advertising, a new type of advertising that we think is less intrusive than many other formats. Basically, keywords on our pages that correspond to an advertiser's product or service will be double-underlined in green. More details here.

Sex & Nudity
Violence & Gore
Profanity
1 to 10

MPAA Rating: PG-13

Adam Sandler is a nearly thirtysomething "kid" who must go back to school to prove to his Dad that he can run his multimillion dollar business.

SEX/NUDITY 3 - A great deal of talk about sex and some groping: the male principal makes passes at Sandler, hugging him and passing him suggestive notes. A bus driver talks about having had sex with a teacher, and looks up her skirt as she boards the bus. Sandler's housekeeper flirts with him even though she's quite a bit older. Sandler kisses a photo of his girlfriend and simulates caressing her breasts. A scene of strip-tease which doesn't amount to much.

VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - Sandler plays a vicious game of dodge-ball hitting the kids with the ball very hard. A clown falls off his stilts and a stream of blood comes out of his mouth. A man flails about on fire while cooking, a man is shot in the buttocks (a bullet hole is seen) and a car slides on a banana peel and goes over a cliff.

PROFANITY 5 - One F-word, 15 scatological terms, and a handful of mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]

DISCUSSION TOPICS - Doing your best, winning parental approval.

MESSAGE - Even when your goal is to please someone else, it's more important to be true to yourself. School isn't just for kids -- adults need to keep learning too.
