Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
A content bachelor learns he has 24 hours to get married if
he wants to receive a $100 million inheritance from his recently deceased grandfather.
With Chris O'Donnell, Renée Zellweger, Brooke Shields, Artie Lange, Ed Asner, James
Cromwell, Hal Holbrook, Marnie Alexenburg, T.L. Brooke, Mariah Carey, Stacy Edwards,
Jennifer Esposito, Rebecca Gray, Brian Leonard, Marley Shelton, Sarah Silverman and
Katharine Towne. [1:42]
SEX/NUDITY 3 - Some sexual innuendo and kissing. Suggestive dancing in one
scene. A woman grabs her clothed breasts in an effort to entice a man. A woman's
nipples are vaguely seen through her top, a woman wears a bustier and garters, another
wears only a garter belt and stockings (no nudity is visible) and we see many women in
cleavage-revealing outfits.
VIOLENCE/GORE 3 - A man is "karate-chopped" several times, a woman
slaps a man and a woman chokes a man. Some scuffles/tussles while potential brides fight
over a potential groom, a man is pulled off his seat with a lasso and falls hard and women
chase a man and we see a stampeding group of brides.

PROFANITY 6 - One F-word (plus a few times someone starts to say the F-word
but only gets as far as the first two letters), a profane finger gesture, a few anatomical
references, many scatological references and many mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
