Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
Julia Roberts stars as the sister and personal assistant to
a beautiful and demanding super-super star, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. When she
dutifully accepts the task of helping her celebrated boss through one last public
appearance accompanied by her estranged (and equally luminous) husband (John Cusack), her
life takes an unscheduled romantic turn. Billy Crystal co-stars as a legendary press agent
who's responsible for putting the whole shindig together. Also with Hank Azaria, Stanley
Tucci, Christopher Walken, Alan Arkin, Seth Green. [1:41]
SEX/NUDITY 4 - A man and woman kiss romantically and she massages his crotch
with her foot. A man and woman kiss on a bed and then lie back; we see them the next

suggestively and climbs on a man's lap wiggling her hips. A man thrusts his hips toward a
woman a few times. A man, seen on a security camera, is thought to be masturbating. There
are several discussions of masturbation: with security guards, a woman on the phone, and
on national TV. A man makes references to two men and a woman having sex together. There
are several references to a man's endowment. A man and woman kiss romantically in scenes
from a movie. A man and woman kiss and hug (in friendship) a few times. A woman is shown
in a bathtub covered to the shoulders in bubbles. While changing her clothes we see a
woman in her bra. A woman's bathrobe drops open revealing part of her bra covered breast.
We see a woman in low cut, cleavage-revealing evening gowns several times. A woman is seen
in a nurse's uniform which is partly unzipped in the front revealing the top of a lacy bra
and some cleavage. A dog nuzzles a man's crotch and he instructs the dog to "move to
the left."
VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - A man imagines shooting a woman several times (we see
blood spray and she falls to the ground). A man drives his motorcycle through a restaurant
window and nearly hits two people. A man is hit in the face with a restaurant tray and we
see his bruised nose and eye. A man tackles a man and they land on a restaurant table
causing food and dishes to crash to the floor; they wrestle around a bit more. A man
stands on a roof (the people below think he's going to kill himself), he slides down when
he is knocked by a door and eventually dangles from a fire hose. A man throws a glass of
water on a man's face. A man grabs another man by the collar and threatens to kill him. A
man talks about putting a gun down his throat. A man pounds a phone onto a chair and yanks
it by the cord. A man yells in frustration and anger. A dog attacks a window washer and
drags him off screen; the dog lunges at a man's crotch, and growls at a man a couple of
times. A man is beaned with a golf ball. A man throws jars of pills at a man. A man falls

A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
