A police detective, who is still blaming himself for the death of his partner, is called in on a kidnapping case. Adapted from James Patterson's first novel in the Alex Cross series from which "Kiss The Girls" was also adapted in 1997. With Morgan Freeman, Monica Potter, Michael Wincott, Penelope Ann Miller and Michael Moriarty. [1:43]

SEX/NUDITY 3 - We hear a man and woman talking about going off together even though they just met. A man caresses a woman's knee and thigh while driving. A man opens his fly and tries to push a woman's head into his lap. A man and woman kiss.

VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - A car spins out of control, goes over a guardrail and dangles over a dam with a huge waterfall, then breaks loose and falls off with a man and woman inside. A woman is strangled with a cord and falls to the floor dead. A man is shot three times and we see him floating in water surrounded by blood. We see a dead man with bullet wounds. A man is shot in the chest with a shotgun (we see the very bloody wound). A woman is shot in the chest and falls dead to the floor (we see the bullet hole and blood splattered on her face). A woman shoots a man in the head and we see the resulting wound with some blood. Two policemen are shot in the head with blood splattering on their car windows. A woman stabs a man in the leg and we see the bloody knife, her bloody hand and trickles of blood on the floor. The room where a girl is being held hostage is riddled with bullets and they ricochet all around her. A woman draws a gun on a man, he punches her in the face and she shoots him in the leg. A woman is zapped with a stun gun and falls to the floor unconscious. A man confesses to having killed his parents by setting their house on fire. There's a shootout ending with a car running into a fire hydrant and skidding off with a flat tire spraying sparks. A man shoots out the window of a train and passengers scream. There is a reference to a shooting and a dead fisherman. A woman holds a man at gunpoint. A woman is punched hard in the face. A man holds a young girl's mouth and injects her in the neck with a sedative. We see her unconscious. A very angry man goes into a room to shoot a girl (she's gone). Two men hold guns on each other; one backs down. During a ransom demand we hear the kidnapper threaten to kill the girl. We see the police photo of a dead woman, and we see a woman taping up a body and see blood seeping through the wrapper. A girl drops a battery into a flame on top of a stove; there's a huge flare-up. A girl jumps from a boat and swims toward shore screaming for help. A woman kicks down a door and draws a gun; the police break open a door with a battering ram and enter a house with guns drawn. We see a young girl in a small padded room, and a girl repeatedly screams for help. There is a discussion about a dead girl in a ditch, talk of the killing of a baby, and references to the possible location of a dead girl and the possible modes of her death.
