Unlike the MPAA we do not assign
one
inscrutable rating based on age, but 3 objective ratings for SEX/NUDITY, VIOLENCE/GORE
and PROFANITY on a scale of 0 to 10, from lowest to highest,
depending on quantity and context.
Clint Eastwood is a thief who witnesses a crime and a White
House cover-up. Also with Gene Hackman, Ed Harris, Scott Glenn and
Judy Davis. Directed by Clint Eastwood. [2:01]
SEX/NUDITY 5 - Sexual innuendo, kissing. An extended sex scene with kissing,
implied oral sex: the man is standing and pushes the woman down to her knees. The camera
shows his pleased face. It later appears he's performing oral sex on her. The same pair
engage in rough sex (slaps and they both seem to enjoy it) before the sex turns too rough.
During this scene there's no nudity, just shoulders, etc.
VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - An extended violent rape scene with slaps, hits in the
crotch, punches (one resulting in a very bloody nose), strangling, scuffling. A woman
stabs a man in the arm and there is some blood. A woman is shot and there's a lot of blood
splattered on a man's face, on the floor and on her body and face. We see her bloody body
and floor a few more times. A man is killed by having a huge needle jabbed in his neck.
Chases, threatening with guns, snipers, a woman is pushed off a cliff in a car. A woman
has a badly bruised face.

PROFANITY 5 - Three F-words, some scatological references, a few anatomical
references, some mild obscenities. [profanity glossary]
A CAVEAT: We've gone through several editorial changes since we
started covering films in 1992 and some of our early standards were
not as stringent as they are now. We therefore need to revisit many
older reviews, especially those written prior to 1998 or so; please
keep this in mind if you're consulting a review from that period.
While we plan to revisit and correct older reviews our resources are
limited and it is a slow, time-consuming process.
