Teen Titans Go! To the Movies | 2018 | PG | - 1.4.1

Based on the TV cartoon series: The Teen Titans, sidekicks to superheroes, and their leader (voiced by Scott Menville) decide to pursue Hollywood stardom but when a supervillain (voiced by Will Arnett) decides to take over the world by controlling the Justice League, the teens are needed. Also with the voices of Greg Cipes, Khary Payton, Tara Strong, Hynden Walch and Kristen Bell. Directed by Peter Rida Michail & Aaron Horvath. [1:33]

SEX/NUDITY 1 - A teen boy rushes toward the camera and shouts, "Kids, ask your parents where babies come from!" A man poses as a woman on a cell phone and tells another man he must save "her" or there will not be any more "smoochy-smoochy."
Two scenes feature close-ups of a teenager boy's buttocks gyrating in tights. A scene shows a close-up of tights-covered buttocks. A baby's bare buttocks are shown bouncing in close-up. A female superhero wears a tight corset and miniskirt that reveal slight cleavage and bare legs to the top of the thighs. A female hero wears a top and miniskirt that reveal her bare abdomen and thighs above boots. Two male characters are shirtless briefly (bare shoulders, chest, back and abdomen are seen).

VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - The film includes many scenes of numerous flashing lights in bright colors, vibrating color patterns, fast series of close-ups of faces, loud noises, screeching voices, and shouting.
A gnome-like boy turns into animals: a tiger, a T-rex, a predatory bird and a gorilla. A girl shoots rays from her fists in several scenes. A girl creates holes to serve as portals to other places and conjures ravens and a long dragon. A cyborg with a patch for one of his eyes has Gatling-gun like weapons at the end of each arm to shoot rays, in several scenes. A villain has only one eye (he resembles and sounds like Deadpool).
Superheroes build a Doomsday Device that will broadcast their movies globally and constantly to hypnotize all people: Hypnotized by a villain, their eyes glow bright white as the villain shouts, "Destroy the Teen Titans!" and the teens jump off a roof into a golf cart and race away from the superheroes, who chase them shooting ray guns (no one is struck), the cart wrecks against a large superhero and the teens run away, a villain and a teen hero fight with swords and an electric staff until the boy falls onto a floor and breaks through it and the villain follows, mocking him and the Doomsday Device begins to play a movie on many screens until the teens break all the screens; one teen stalks toward them with hypnotized eyes and punches one of the other teens felling him (no injuries are seen) and he shouts, "Kill!," but he soon recovers and the villain operates a huge mechanical man with a giant sword to attack the teens until one teen shoots feces-like goop all over the robot and a dragon and ravens attack the robot, which explodes when it hears a loud hip hop song (we see debris and robot parts on the ground).
A villain uses two light sabers to send rays out to smash five teens into walls (they are uninjured); the six characters fight with an electrified staff, ray guns, swords, conjured ravens, and light sabers as we see smoke rise and characters fly; the villain is electrocuted and we see his skeleton vibrate in his body (he is not harmed permanently) and he flies away as the teens fly after him and two teen boys are struck by ray gun fire and they fall (they are caught with no injuries seen). A huge lighting fixture falls onto the head of a teen boy, knocking him unconscious; the boy awakens to find a woman asking him to open a vault and retrieve a crystal before she removes a mask and transforms into a male supervillain, and then shackles the boy to the wall and small fires erupt; the boy escapes and fires demolish the building as he jumps across a chasm. Silhouettes of mobsters wearing fedoras smile with big white teeth and shoot pistols and rifles into the air in an alley and later a character pushes a man and a woman into the alley, off-screen and the couple presumably dies. A man shoots two pistols to a point off-screen.
We hear a loud boom off-screen in a big city and see a giant balloon man stomping through streets, breaking buildings, punching through walls to steal museum pieces and a safe (all encased in balloon bubbles) and breaking through roofs; he shouts at teen superheroes that try to stop him, shoots rays at them (he misses), two police officers shoot pistols at him (they miss), he turns over a cruiser and it catches fire, police tanks float in the air until the teens put them back down, a boy turns into a porcupine and throws quills into the buttocks of the giant and we hear about 15 seconds of air escaping like flatulence and the teens shrink the giant to toy size and a teen boy kicks him over the edge of a roof and off-screen (we do not hear him strike anything).
A teen boy causes a superhero to smash into a wall (he is temporarily dazed). A boy pokes a hole in a rubber swimming pool, sending a dolphin flapping onto the floor. A teen sprays a character with Kryptonite to make him fall unconscious, and then buries him in Kryptonite crystals, laughing. A tiny hero is stepped on and we see him with bandages on his head arm and a leg. A tiny hero is smashed onto a car windshield. Teen heroes beat up a groaning actor they think is a villain and the actor suffers facial scratches, loses some teeth without blood flow, and lies on a floor with his body in a zig-zag shape. One character kicks another character in the rear end. Two characters begin to fight in a movie and the director yells, "Cut." A woman pushes a little girl away with a slap to the forehead.
Many bombs fall and burn a city and we hear explosions with a lot of smoke and a few small fires rising. A tall laboratory building erupts in flames and smoke as a sword floats inside the building and a guard falls down in the smoke and does not move (he might be dead) while two guards point pistols off-screen. A villain makes fun of a teen hero, breaks out a wall, and flies away. A boy sees his home crumble and fall off an island, leaving a large pile of debris beside water that has turned red (it is not blood but red for an unknown reason). Two trucks hit head-on in the background and we see and hear some bent metal. A character turns another character to ice temporarily. A character stops a missile with the palm of his hand. A vial of radioactive liquid lies in a street, spilled near a sewer grate.
A boy dreams a superhero threw him off the top of a skyscraper when he was a baby (he does not hit the ground) and wakes up screaming. A boy imagines that he kicks a man in the head and beats up a dozen villains who lie on the floor (we don't see any blood, but one villain lies in a pool of white liquid). A character briefly lies on a stretcher in his imagination (one leg is shown bandaged). A villain shoots a snapshot full of holes with two pistols. A cyborg burns, falls in a heap and rises to put himself back together again.
Five teens ride Big-Wheel-type bikes into the past twice; we see colorful streaks shooting off the back of the bikes and dust rise as they stop. A character chases teens in a car that turns into a motorcycle, a scooter, roller skates, and finally a man who carries someone on his back.
A boy turns into a goat and eats piles of garbage that look like feces in the dumpster; he turns into a boy and vomits some garbage (we see brown goo). Four teens say they defecated in a fake toilet on a movie set and complain about the smell (we don't see any feces). A teen girl slobbers spittle when she sees a superhero. A girl burps loudly for several seconds. An elderly man brushes his teeth, without foam or spit. A character cries and loudly blows his nose into a long flowing tissue for several seconds. A character sticks her tongue out at another character.
Two characters cry briefly in two scenes. A teen girl says, "Kill all the superheroes" (no one is harmed).

CAVEATS

Be aware that while we do our best to avoid spoilers it is impossible to disguise all details and some may reveal crucial plot elements.

We've gone through several editorial changes since we started covering films in 1992 and older reviews are not as complete & accurate as recent ones; we plan to revisit and correct older reviews as resources and time permits.

Our ratings and reviews are based on the theatrically-released versions of films; on video there are often Unrated, Special, Director's Cut or Extended versions, (usually accurately labelled but sometimes mislabeled) released that contain additional content, which we did not review.
