The TV Parental Guidelines Monitoring Board rating indicates “This program is suitable for all ages.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a couple of kissing scenes, teen flirting, and many scenes of women wearing revealing dance costumes, an off-screen fight that leaves some men with bruises, many arguments, discussions of death of a parent and abandonment, chasing dreams, and some mild language. A woman (Sofia Carson) trying to make it as a Broadway dancer is evicted from her apartment and also has an unfortunate run-in with a powerful woman that can destroy her career. Disappointed, she returns to her small hometown, where she is given the opportunity to learn what’s truly important in life. Feel the Beat SEX/NUDITY 3

 – A woman wearing a leotard dances on a sidewalk trying to get a man’s attention (we see her legs to the hips) as she dances and kicks. Dance costumes are revealing of bare legs to the hips, and partial buttocks, cleavage and backs in several scenes. A pre-teen girl onstage tugs on her leotard and tights during a performance. A woman wears tight-fitting outfits that reveal cleavage, and the outlines of her breasts, hips and buttocks in numerous scenes throughout the movie. A woman wears a crop top that reveals cleavage and her bare abdomen.
 A man and woman kiss a few times. A man and a woman practice a dance move where the man lifts the woman over his head in the air and they then fall on the floor; they lie on top of each other and the man asks if the woman is trying to get him to “fall for her,” she looks uncomfortable and they are interrupted. Teen and pre-teen dance competitors thrust their hips and make suggestive moves onstage. A teen girl and a teen boy look at each other flirtatiously and a younger girl makes smooching sounds to tease the girl. A teen boy flirts with a teen girl and another teen girl looks disappointed.
 A teen boy holds a teen girl over his head in a dance move and the girl’s bra padding falls out onto the floor (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details). A woman dances in a barn and a man watches; she is embarrassed when she realizes he’s been watching her. A woman refers to a woman and a man being “joined at the lips” when they were teens.

Feel the Beat VIOLENCE/GORE 2

 – A woman yells at another woman on a stage in an audition and tells her that she will never work on Broadway again; the second woman grabs the first woman’s hand and pleads with her until the second woman tries to pull away and falls off the stage (we see her lying on the floor and hear that she broke her leg and arm). A woman and a teen girl argue bitterly and the woman tells her to leave her class, and the girls says, “Make me” and then storms out. A woman yells at her daughter on a bus and tells her that she will have to get off the bus and miss a dance competition; they argue briefly and the mother leaves allowing the girl to go. Several men argue in a parking lot and make insulting remarks about each other’s children there to compete in a dance contest; they fight off-screen and we see them all with bruises on their faces later. Teen girls tease other girls and a woman before a dance competition; one says, “Break a leg and a wrist and fall over.” A teen boy holds a teen girl over his head in a dance move and the girl’s bra padding falls out of her shirt and onto the floor (please see the Violence/Gore category for more details); another teen boy mocks her and laughs causing the girl to run away crying. A teen girl yells at a woman and pleads with her not to leave; the teen cries.
 A woman dances onstage with several teen and pre-teen girls and the woman falls; one of the girls helps her up and we see no injury. A woman dances with several teen and pre-teen girls onstage during a competition and lifts one girl up by the shirt and drops her on the stage with a thud as part of the show; the girl says, “I’m OK mom.” A man and a woman practice a dance move where the man lifts the woman over his head in the air and they fall on the floor; they lie on top of each other until they are interrupted. A boy and a girl practice a dance lift and they fall to the floor several times (there are no injuries). A man and a woman argue and she throws a shoe at him; he catches it with no injuries. The ceiling of a dance studio collapses onto the dance floor during a class (no one is harmed).
 Two women vie for a taxi in the rain and when one woman takes the taxi, she tells the other woman, “It’s a matter of life and death.” A woman watches a video that shows her arguing with another woman and causing the woman to fall off a stage and says, “I hate the Internet.” A woman yells at girls in her dance class and tells them if they talk out of turn they will have to give her 20 pushups; she enforces this rule in several scenes. A woman yells at a pre-teen girl about her dancing and the girl sits in a bathroom stall crying; she asks, “Am I really that bad?” and the woman replies, “Yes.” A woman is dismissive toward a young girl asking, “She’s deaf? How does she dance on the beat?” A woman yells at young girls about wanting to be dancers and makes them cry. A man makes a comment about accidentally starting a fire in a barn with a woman when they were teens. A woman talks about her mother choosing to leave her when she was young and a teen girl talks about her mother having died. A woman says, “I will just die.” A woman yells at two young girls in a dance class, shakes their arms and calls them “noodle arms.” A man and a woman talk about her having broken up with him by text message. Football players mock teen and pre-teen girls and say, “They’re just dancers.” A woman talks about fearing that she will let everyone down.
 Two young girls freeze during a dance competition and are motionless onstage until a young boy comes onstage and starts dancing with them. Several teens and pre-teens play in the park during a rainstorm and jump in mud puddles, splattering mud on themselves and each other. Football players trip over tires during a drill in practice.
 A teen girl vomits on a woman’s shoe and we hear a gag and see goo. A teen girl vomits on a woman’s show and we see goo splatter. A woman puts a bucket next to a teen girl on the seat of a bus and tells her to use it to “puke” in. A woman dances on a sidewalk trying to get a man’s attention and bumps into someone carrying drinks; she falls and the drinks spill on her and the sidewalk. A young boy is shown with bruising on his wrist from practicing a dance move repeatedly. A man says that a woman looks like she is about to pass a kidney stone.
